“I didn’t feel particularly loud or bold in rooms,” she says. “But I could hold space for ideas, emotion, and nuance on the page.”
Serving from the Margins, Not the Spotlight
A decade into her professional communications career, Shan knows what it means to hold space for others especially those who feel overwhelmed by the noise of modern marketing. She’s carved out a unique path for herself by doing what comes naturally: listening deeply and distilling what matters most.
“For many people, especially introverted women like me, putting themselves out there is hard,” she shares. “So I help them by doing what I do best, turning their truth into words that move people.”
The Power of Introverted Presence
Shan doesn’t view introversion as a hurdle. It’s her quiet superpower. Her ability to notice, process, and hold space gives her clients a sense of calm and confidence. But she admits it hasn’t always been easy.
“In a world that rewards being ‘on’ all the time, I’ve had to learn how to promote my work in ways that align with my energy,” she says. That learning curve has taught her to trust her natural rhythm and believe in the power of presence over performance.
Life on Her Own Terms
Shan has spent the past four years living and working remotely with her laptop and passport constant companions. Currently based in Medellín, Colombia, she’s soon headed back to the quiet of the mountains in Huaraz, Peru. Her dream life isn’t about flashy milestones or viral content. It’s about slow mornings, meaningful work, sunlight, and staying true to herself.
“I’ve created a life where I can keep writing, keep growing, keep traveling,” she says, “but most of all, keep showing up fully as myself, without having to wear a mask.”
