So you want to be an entrepreneur, but you don’t know what business to start?
I totally understand how you feel. It took me a while to brainstorm and figure out my true passion. I’m going to give you a head start, so grab a notebook and pen.
Let’s start making a list.
- What were all of the tasks you completed at every single job you’ve held?
- What types of things do you enjoy so much that you would do them for free?
- What are your hobbies?
- What are your strengths?
- What do your friends and family say that you are good at?
Include every thought that comes to mind during this brainstorming. Even if the idea doesn’t seem like it could be a business, add it to the list anyway.
After you’ve made a comprehensive list, go through it and cross off everything you dislike doing.
All done with that?
Now review the smaller list and circle your top 3 favorite ideas. Can they be combined into some sort of business?
Paste them into Google with the words “business idea” and read the articles that pop up. If you discover many other people running similar businesses, this may be a sign that there is plenty of money to be made.
Once you’ve narrowed your list down to one idea, the real work begins. Have fun!
