Her Dream

Meet Introverted Christian Life Coach, Jamie Johnson

Say hello to Jamie Johnson from Camden, Arkansas, USA. Her dream life consists of her speaking and teaching the gospel to help women become deeply rooted in the word of God.

Jamie, tell us about the work you do and what inspired you to start your business.

After 20 years as an educator, the Holy Spirit led me to leave my career and begin a new journey. So, I left a steady paycheck, retirement, healthcare, and much more to set off on an unknown journey. I had no idea how I would make ends meet or what I would encounter, but I knew God would certainly provide.

Although, I love sharing God’s word; I never wanted to be a Christian life coach and certainly not a speaker. My time as a Christian life coach and speaker has not been easy. It has challenged and broken me in many ways. But it has also strengthened and built me up in areas I needed most.

I have the privilege of serving women on their journey of becoming confident in who they are as a child of God and becoming rooted in God’s Word.

I’m not “well-known” but the Holy Spirit has used me to touch the lives of many women. Many women have reconnected with God; others have begun their Christian journey, and many are spending more time with God than ever before.

I can’t “brag” on myself about anything, because what has been done was only possible by the grace of God. He is the one who gets all the glory.

How has being an introvert affected your life and your business?

As an introvert, I don’t like speaking in front of large crowds or being the center of attention. I’m also shy and usually the quietest person in the room.  So, I’m often overlooked.

It’s not easy for me to “open up” to people, especially strangers, so it’s a challenge to connect to potential clients. In addition, I express myself best through written communication; not verbal.

What’s so ironic about all of this is God called me to do the things that I’m not good at–public speaking and reaching women for His Kingdom.  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I’m able to do things I can’t do on my own.

For those who have heard me speak, they are always shocked to know that I struggle with public speaking simply because of the passion and power that is delivered when I speak. But, that isn’t me…it’s the power of the Holy Spirit.

There are a lot of things that take place behind the scenes to prepare me to speak publicly and share God’s Word. I’ve had to learn how to overcome my fears so that I’m able to fulfill the calling that God has placed on my life.

Can you share a significant lesson you have learned on your journey so far?

The best lesson I’ve learned from my journey so far is to TRUST GOD!

If He calls you to it; he has already equipped you to do it.

What advice would you give to other introverted women who are on a journey to build their dreams?

Anything worthwhile, will require you to step out of your comfort zone and take risks.

God has a place that dreams in your heart for a reason, but it will be up to you to take the steps to have that dream manifested in your life. The path has already been placed before you, but you have to be willing to put one foot in front of the other and begin traveling it. There will be challenges, setbacks, and disappointments but you WILL always have the choice of how you allow those things to shape you.

Decide to start TODAY and then just DO it!

Thank you for taking the time to share your story.
