Her Dream

Meet Introverted Coach, Fiona Cutts

Say hello to Fiona Cutts from Cuenca, Ecuador. Her dream is to live in a beautiful city, with easy access to nature and walks. She loves being with friends, dancing, learning Spanish and eating good food.

Tell us about the work you do and what inspired you to get started.

I have an online coaching and facilitation business, Sex and The Shy Girl. It’s about empowering girls who are shy with sex to become sexually confident women.

Of course this is my own story. I was shy not just with sex, with everything–just that the shyness with sex was more intense, and was one of the last aspects that I addressed.

Even today, sex is such a taboo subject. You are never really sure how it is for other people. So, when women have the vulnerability to look at what’s going on for them sexually, what their most intimate desires are, and what’s holding them back from expressing them, it’s a sharing of the core of themselves.

When we truly dare to share the core of ourselves, the transformation that comes can be massive in all areas of our lives, not just the sexual.

How has being an introvert affected your life and your business?

I have hesitated to share what I do, to appear on social media or talk about what I do. I sometimes get overwhelmed by spending a lot of time with clients. I can get affected by their stress and traumas.

My introversion and my shyness have affected my whole life–struggling to be around people, not feeling heard or seen, feeling that my way of doing business or being in the world is very different from the norm.

Nowadays, I have the confidence to lead my life and my business in a way that works for me. I sometimes feel I’m different from a lot of the sex coaches out there and for that I’m grateful. Choosing to work with women who are shy about sex necessarily means I have to be different in the way I put it out there. I now see this as an advantage. I can market my business in a softer, gentler way that will appeal to shy girls and introverts!

Can you share a significant lesson you have learned on your journey so far?

The event that prompted me to change my life from accountant to healer/coach was severe illness – Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It felt as though from one day to the next, my life was taken away, through random bad luck.

As I journeyed to vibrant, good health using the tools of energy healing, I began to understand how much of my debilitating fatigue, how much of my illness was caused by not daring to express myself, including sexually.

I learned that I loved to sing, to dance, to express myself with my body, in and outside of the bedroom. And that when I do this, I am more fully alive, more fully enjoying everything.

And that’s what I love to share with other women.

What advice would you give to other introverted women who are on a journey to build their dreams?

It’s not only okay, it’s actually essential that you create your business and your life on your own terms, in your own way.

A lot of the things that appear to be received wisdom, and may work for other people, are unlikely to work for you. Take your time to find your own path, and keep going.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story.
