Her Dream

Meet Introverted Life Coach, Robyn Hock

Say hello to Robyn Hock from North Carolina. She’s been in business for 8 months working to build the life of her dreams. Keep reading to learn how she’s making an impact with her work.

Tell us about the work you do and what inspired you to get started.

I would like to start by saying this is my second time starting a business. My first business was a childcare facility that began in my home in 2001 where I provided child care for 6 children. I grew that business to a facility which served 120 children and their families. I sold that business in 2017.

I contently worked for another company once I sold the business and actually, did not want to start another business because I knew the blood, sweat and tears that go into it.

My husband left me for another woman 2 years ago and in the process of healing, moving on and learning how to love myself again, I wrote a book.

And I am finally starting another business, life coaching, where I will have the opportunity to help other women overcome their obstacles, love themselves and work towards the goals that set their heart on fire.

How has being an introvert affected your life and your business?

Some of the benefits of being an introvert when it comes to starting a business is how we take time to make decisions, are introspective and analytical, always observing our surroundings and enjoy spending time alone.

These qualities are important when first beginning a business because the basis of a good business is building a solid foundation. There are so many important decisions to make when starting a business and it’s essential to take the time to analyze and build from the ground up.

Also, when leading a team of people to do a job, introverts are observant of the behaviors of others and are able to use those observations to help improve interpersonal relationships.

Some specific challenges I have learned to overcome is conflict avoidance, especially when working with a team, and now putting myself out there on social media.

What’s a significant lesson you have learned on your journey so far?

One thing I have learned, and is the basis of the book I wrote and what I want others to know is that there is always a path that leads from where you are and where you want to be.

The path will most likely not be a straight smooth path, but whatever it is that sets your heart on fire, is not only achievable, it is meant for you. You feel that pull for a reason. Also, that this is true no matter where you are, what circumstance you find yourself in, how old you are, etc. It’s never too late to take steps towards the goal you have set for yourself.

What advice would you give to other introverted women who are on a journey to build their dreams?

To other women I would say, believe in yourself.

Believe in the dream you have.

Believe in your ability to achieve this dream, and know you are worthy.
