As the founder of I Love Us, an online platform that shines a spotlight on Black arts and entertainment, Thiy is on a mission to celebrate and amplify voices that deserve to be heard.
From Idea to Impact
Thiy’s journey to starting I Love Us began with a love for writing and storytelling. “I’ve always loved writing and telling stories,” she shared. “I’m passionate about connecting people with amazing Black creatives. I Love Us has been brewing in my mind for a while, but now just felt like the right time to make it happen.” And we’re so glad it did.
Navigating Media as an Introvert
Being an introvert in the media world isn’t easy, but Thiy is finding her way. “Honestly, being an introvert in this media world is a trip. I love to write, but these days, everyone wants videos, podcasts, and all of that,” she said. While she thrives in writing and storytelling, balancing social media and public interactions can be draining. Still, she steps out of her comfort zone when it matters most, like attending events and connecting with inspiring creatives.
One such connection happened in Wynwood, Miami, where she met Tarriona “Tank” Ball of Tank and the Bangas. “She was so sweet and gracious,” Thiy said. “We exchanged contacts, and I’m excited to interview her about her Grammy nomination.” These moments remind her that sometimes, stepping outside her comfort zone leads to incredible opportunities.

Now, I’m just ready to see it expand and get the recognition and monetization it deserves. I want all of the Khadijah James vibes, but with a bank account to match!”
