Charish Badzinski has always followed her curiosity. Today, she’s a writer and travel essayist based in Tucson, Arizona, supporting clients through everything from speechwriting and ghostwriting to web copy and newsletters. But what fuels her most is travel and not just the kind stamped in passports. “I share my insights into the deeper lessons of the travel experience through my blog,” she says.
With a background in radio, TV, and print journalism, Charish brings integrity and intention to everything she does. She doesn’t accept sponsorships or freebies and insists on traveling on her own dime.
Her passion lies in slow, immersive travel and solo female adventures, always with a lens of budget consciousness and meaningful exploration. So far, she’s made it to 58 countries.
Breaking Free from the Cubicle
Like many entrepreneurs, Charish didn’t set out to build her own business. After transitioning out of journalism, she landed in traditional corporate roles in marketing and media relations. The stability was comforting, but the work? Not fulfilling.
“I felt like I was breaking off and selling a portion of my life every day,” she says. A layoff eventually nudged her toward freelancing, which brought with it a freedom she’d never known. The flexibility to create, travel, and define her own terms was irresistible. “That taste of freedom excited me like nothing else,” she says. Soon after, she committed fully to life outside the cubicle.
Embracing Introversion as Strength
Charish’s introversion shaped her path in ways she didn’t always understand. “I didn’t always know I was an introvert,” she admits. “Some people still don’t believe me when I tell them, because I’m adept at turning it on when needed.” Raised in an extroverted household, she developed the ability to navigate louder spaces but at a cost.

It wasn’t until her late 30s that she recognized how draining it was to constantly push against her nature. “Being a solopreneur is a far healthier way for me to work,” she explains. “I can say no to jobs that don’t align with my values and create boundaries that nurture my soul.” These days, she feels far less anxiety and far more peace.
A Lesson in Authentic Living
Her biggest takeaway is that “honoring your true self is more important than any paycheck.” By honoring her introverted self and choosing a career that gives her freedom, Charish has crafted a life full of purpose, adventure, and rich storytelling. Whether she’s exploring new countries or writing from home with her dog nearby, she’s grounded in the knowledge that she’s living life on her own terms.
Dreaming Beyond Borders
Charish dreams of reaching all seven continents and visiting 100 countries and then sharing those experiences to inspire others. “It took me a long time to understand that dream is enough,” she says. Whether or not she reaches the number, she’s already won by staying true to herself.
