Stacy Brooks has spent more than 20 years in the fast-paced world of marketing and communications, but her journey hasnโt just been about building campaigns and planning events. Itโs also been about building confidence, honoring her quiet nature, and creating space for the things she truly loves.
By day, Stacy is a self-described marketing generalist who has done it all from content creation and public relations to social media management and large-scale event planning. She’s worked with scrappy start-ups and now serves on the marketing team of one of the worldโs largest tech firms, thanks to a recent acquisition. But thereโs more to her than her โday job.โ
Outside of work, Stacy is a wine lover with certifications to back it up. Her passion for Virginia wine inspired her to launch a blog, Virginia Wine Know, and even publish a wine-themed adult coloring book. What began as casual vineyard visits with friends blossomed into a creative outlet that blends her love of nature, storytelling, and sipping something delicious.
I was sometimes ashamed of the fact that I was an introvert.
But like many introverted women navigating corporate spaces, Stacyโs confidence wasnโt always so rooted. โI was sometimes ashamed of the fact that I was an introvert,โ she admits. โI had imposter syndrome before that phrase even existed.โ In the early years of her career, she struggled to speak up in meetings or advocate for herself. Social events left her drained, but she felt obligated to attend in order to fit in.
It took time and experience for that to change.
โIt wasnโt until the last 10 years that I fully embraced who I am, introverted and all,โ Stacy says. That self-acceptance shifted everything. She now recognizes her strengths: being a focused listener, a thoughtful strategist, and someone who brings quiet power to the room.
And as for those exhausting work mixers? โI finally came to the realization that I do not have to go to them,โ she says with a smile. โNow I only attend when necessary and I plan ahead about who Iโll talk to, how long Iโll stay. Itโs all about boundaries.โ
As for the dream life, Stacy is already living a version of it: healthy, happy, and financially secure. But if she could write her ideal next chapter, it would include owning a creative brick-and-mortar space with her partner, whoโs an artist. โHeโd sell his art and rent out studio space. Iโd market the venue for events,โ she shares.
With her blend of creativity, confidence, and intentional living, Stacy is proof that being an introvert isnโt something to overcome. Itโs something to embrace.
